Autumn Joy

Rain from heaven fell softly this morning.  It has been such a long time since we have been blessed with rain.  It rained briefly in Perth while we were in holiday in Busselton.  No rain fell in Busselton at the time.  Today the sky remained cloudy all day, the humidity was high.  I threw open all the windows and doors to invite the cooling breeze to dance throughout the house.
We sat outside in our simple garden and ate our everyday lunch.  It is a sign of autumn pleasures: long lunches, chats and games to be played in the fresh air.  Soon the air conditioner will no longer hum all day and we can drive with the windows down and enjoy fresh air.  It is a sign of barbeques during the day, walks before and after lunch, a healthier outdoor celebration of life itself.
A change of season to revitalise us and bring new expectations.
