A Change of Scenery

View of Perth City from the  South Perth foreshore
We haven't used Merv's wheelchair for a few weeks and I am eager to walk off a few extra kilojoules.  A walk with a view is on the cards.  I put the chair in the boot of the car and check Merv has his seatbelt on. We are off to explore the South Perth foreshore.  There is no disability parking vacant, I am grateful Merv can get in and out of the chair with minimal help.  We walk in a westerly direction along the path and stop to admire the city skyline which dominates our view.  We pass walkers, cyclists and other people in wheelchairs.  Some of them nod or bid us G'day and we return their greeting.  Catamarans (Funcats) are resting idly on the sand.  I file the thought away.  One day I will try them out, but not today.

Funcats (catamarans) for hire
We pass a couple of  cafés and at the end of our adventure we choose one with a table with a view of the city overlooking the serenity of the Swan River.  The sun reflects on the water creating a shawl of sparkling diamonds.
Merv settles for a slice of chocolate mud cake with cream and a chocolate milkshake. The slice is huge and I help Merv eat the final crumbs. It is temptingly moorish!  We leave just before midday and head home.
